  • Deuteronomy 11:12 "a land for which the LORD your God cares; the eyes of the LORD your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. Many in our day have tried to propose that the United States of America was never a Christian Nation. But that is not true, for there is to much evidence from History that speaks to differ. Just read the letters of men like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams. They all had one thing in common that they wrote about in their letters. They all believed that the only way a democracy could exist is there must be morality and in order to have morality you must have religion. For you can pass all the laws you want to, but if a man’s heart is not right it is futile that he will obey them. The scripture tells us “a land for which the Lord your God cares”. I believe that with all my heart that God the Father really does care about America. We know that His place of Zion is in Israel but He has blessed the United States as a protecting alias. So, does the Lord care about what happens in the United States? The answer is yes! This verse also tells us that the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it. Do you realize that there are 97 verses that say the eyes of the Lord are on us? While many religions have a picture of a god who is harsh, always looking to punish at any opportunity. In the Quran, there is not one verse to offer comfort to anyone. What a difference that the Bible pictures our Lord and Father. Jesus came to introduce a new concept to mankind and that was God was our Father, and His eyes are always upon His children. Proverbs 15:3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, Keeping watch on the evil and the good. II Chronicles 16:9 2 "For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him… I Peter 3:12 For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil." Psalm 32:8 His eyes are ever on those He loves and cares for and even one verse says He will guide you with His eyes. And did you notice that this verse also tells you that His eyes of the Lord are always upon this land, and notice how long? From the Beginning of the year to the very end of the year! Pastor Lee Cruse who can not think that there is ever one second that the Lord is not thinking about you and your family. It is my prayer that this will be a year that you will grow closer and closer to your Heavenly Father and the realization of just how much He loves you will overwhelm you.

  • Luke 2:12 “And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger." This morning for my pastor’s corner I want to talk to you about value of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. When the Lord taught us in the sermon on the mount in Matthew 6:19 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; I believe that the Lord was showing to us what we should value and I believe that it is demonstrated in the birth of the Lord. So many of us today rush to find gifts that would be appropriate for the person that we care about, we are concerned with value. It is awful to think, but there are those who if you don’t give the right kind of gift to they would be insulted. Many of us in raising up our children have produced that kind of child, if it is not expensive or the latest thing, they throw a fit. I remember my Dad telling me that when he was a kid, for Christmas he got a banana and, on another Christmas, he got an orange. If you gave a kid today a banana or orange for Christmas they would be wanting to know where to plug it in. When my children were born, they were in sterile conditions in a hospital. Our Lord, was born in a cave with soot hanging down from the ceiling from previous fires. There were animals looking on and I guarantee there were smells that were not so pleasant. When a baby is born today, they are immediately taken care of and wrapped in a nice blanket to keep them warm. Our Lord was wrapped in swaddling cloth, and if you didn’t know, swaddling clothes were primarily used to bury the dead. When the Lord told the people to unwrap Lazarus he was wrapped in swaddling clothes. He was laid in a manger, and it was not one of those nice wooden framed up that we see in most nativity scenes. No, it was a huge stone carved out a place to put grain and feed for animals. This was the environment that God, the Father, wanted His Son to be born in and I believe the reason was this is all about His Son Jesus. Just a few miles away was Herod’s temple and the Lord who can do anything could have had His son born there and no one could have stopped Him. But, this was all about Jesus. In this Christmas season it is my hope that we don’t forget the true reason for the season which is our Lord, Jesus Christ. I pray that for our Church that we too will remember that it is not about the preacher, or the choir, or the building, but it is all about Jesus. And the reason He was wrapped in swaddling clothes was because that was the reason that He came to die for our sins. He did it according to what the Bible tells us “For the Joy that was set before Him”. Pastor Lee Cruse hoping that even if you get a banana for Christmas, that ugly tie, or you guys that try being romantic so you give your wife a vacuum cleaner, bless your heart, just remember that the real reason for Christmas is Him and not you.   • Luke 2:8-9 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Of all the people in the Christmas story, other than the Lord, I have always seemed to enjoy the shepherds. It might be because all of life growing up, I wanted to be a wise man in the Christmas play but every time I got demoted to a shepherd. There I would be in my bath robe that I hated, with towel wrapped around my head. But the truth is, I believe that shepherds are some of the most interesting characters in the Christmas story. I wonder how many people can identify with the shepherds. The most revered man in Israel’s history was King David. One would think because he was a shepherd he would be one that people would have looked upon differently. The truth is, Shepherds were looked down upon. In fact, they were considered to be unclean and dirty. Sheep give off a substance called lanolin that could probably be used for glue. So, if you were a shepherd, you were not allowed in the temple to worship, and yet these were those who kept the most valuable thing to the Jews, and that would be the sacrificial lamb. So, that wonderful night, and it was a night like hundreds of nights before. It had been four hundred years since they had heard the voice of God. But this night, this night like no other night before the sky would open up and the angel of the Lord would make the greatest announcement that this world had ever heard. And who was it made to? A group of lowly shepherds, the outcast, those who were not welcomed in the temple. Those the Pharisees and Sadducees looked down upon. It was to this group of lowly shepherds the greatest announcement that things would never be the same and it was made to a group of humble shepherds. Now, what does that say to you and I about who our Father in Heaven is? It says that He is looking for you. Yes, you who are not rich or even have little to no money. You who have screwed up and done things that have kept you away from church and the Bible and even prayer. This says to us that Lord Jesus is looking for every one of us that have desire to come to Him. No one is excluded who will come and come in repentance. Did you at one time start for the Kingdom but turned back? The Lord will not turn you away if you mean business. In the book of Isaiah 55:1 "Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Pastor Lee Cruse If you think that today your life is a mess, then maybe it’s time for you to turn it over to the Lord and let Him drive for a while. I have found that when you trust Him, He won’t run your life over in the ditch.
