Psalms 119:89 Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.
I don’t believe that we have ever lived in a time where there is so much confusion of what is really the truth and what are lies or misconception. We are living in a time in which many, and I mean many, are foretelling the exact date and hour when the Lord is coming back.
The truth is, I hope that they are right, but the problem is that Jesus Himself said in Mark 13:32 “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. He says the same thing in Matthew 24:36 and in Luke 17, Jesus warns us that there will come times when men (Luke 17:22-23) Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. “And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’ Do not go after them or follow them.
Jesus plainly told us that no man knows the exact hour or day when Our Lord will come to take us back to Heaven. He did let us know that we can know the season and I believe that we are in that season right now. I believe that the Lord could burst through the eastern sky at any time.
But, in Matthew 16:3, Jesus rebukes the Pharisees and Sadducees for their inability to discern the spiritual signs of the times, despite being able to discern the weather based on the sky. He uses the example of a red sky in the morning indicating a storm, saying, “You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times”.
Jesus in the Olivet Discourse gave signs after signs of when He would return. There is a word that is called the Exponential Curve and it means, when there is rapid growth where there are signs after signs. This has happened where I believe there are no more signs to happen before Jesus comes.
The problem with setting dates is it goes against the very words of Jesus but it has in the past caused many to fall away from the faith. When that has happened, people like William Miller, said Jesus would come in 844, the Jehovah Witnesses and Watch Tower said Jesus would come in 1914,1925 and in 1975. Then there was Harold Camping who said Jesus would come in 2011.
For those who make these predictions they need to understand that Deuteronomy 18:22 When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.
In these days in which I do believe that Jesus could come at any day it is so important that you and I know the truth. The only way that can happen is for us to absorb ourselves in the word of God.
Pastor Lee Cruse who hopes that everyone will get into the word because then they will know what Jesus has told us. That if we know truth the truth will set us free, and be free from the lies of the world and Satan.
