“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” – John 14:6 (NKJV)
Jesus tells us three things that He is, the Way, the Truth and the Life. I want to emphasize those three words in the next three Pastors Corners.
Jesus said He was the way, and in the last phrase of this verse He tell us that no one can come to the Father except through Him. Many who call themselves Christians will say that there are many ways to God. But, if you want to get in trouble in a conversation, just mention that you believe that Jesus is the only way to some day stand in front of the Father in Heaven. Be ready, because this is an offense to the world.
Think about what you are saying. If you believe Jesus is the way and add to that in Acts 4:12 says “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Now the first thing that people will bring up is what about the Buddhist or the Hindu’s of Islamicist, then are they all lost? I believe they must come the same way that we all come, and that is through Jesus. Now some will say that this is unfair, but I believe there will not be one person who will not have an opportunity to come to Christ.
In Romans 1 it tells us that we are without excuse, and that the things of God are clearly seen. Romans 1:19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. And then Romans 1 gives us an explanation of why they don’t come to Christ. Romans 1:21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
If Jesus is the way then you and I must express in our lives that He is the way. If Jesus is the way, the way to salvation, which He is, He is the way for us to live our lives. May I ask when you are to make a decision, do you trust Him? Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Did you notice the phrase “In all your ways”? If Jesus is the way then you and I must demonstrate a life that is totally sold out to Jesus and it is by how we live that people see Jesus and not by what we say.
Pastor Lee Cruse who has concluded, that I am not capable of running my own life, but Jesus is! So, may we all ask the Lord to show us what Galatians 2:20 is all about. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. He is the way!
