Acts 16:30 And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" This is the story of Paul and Silas in the Philippian jail. They had been imprisoned for preaching the Gospel. In jail and a difficult situation as always, Paul knew that whatever happened to him the Lord was in the center of it and in control. So, what did they do in this situation, they began to sing and praise the Lord! When the Lord heard them, He came down and began to sing base and as a result an earthquake happened. The Jailer who had been given charge over them ran in afraid they had escaped because that would mean his life. But Paul and Silas told him not worry they were still there. Then the jailer asked the question that we all have to ask and that was “what must I do to be saved?” Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved! I believe that there are conditions for a person to meet if they want to be saved. 1. The Holy Spirit is calling you, and I believe that you know in your heart when that is happening. You just can’t be saved any time that you decide. 2. You must do what God is calling you to do. 3. Do not procrastinate. 4. If you are to be saved then do not wait for God to do what He has told you to do. 5. Do not flee to any refuge of lies. 6. Do not seek for any self-indulgent method of Salvation. 7. Don’t imagine that you will have a more favorable time. 8. Don’t suppose that you will find another time as good as the one which you can just as well repent now. 9. If you ever expect to be saved don’t wait to see what others will say or do. 10. You must confess your sins to God. 11. You must renounce yourself and your own righteousness and your will. 12. Understand you are coming to Christ. Pastor Lee Cruse, every Sunday I see people who I believe are struggling that they have never come to Jesus to be saved or at one time they gave their heart to the Lord but have not followed through. Is it not time to take that burden off of your back and allow the Lord to carry it? My prayer for you is that “today is the day of salvation”. The Lord knows all about your past, and He knows the burdens that you are carrying. Hear what the Lord Jesus has to Say “Come to me all you that are heavy laden and I will give you rest, learn of me for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
