Pastor’s Corner February 22, 2026 The Lord Will Satisfy Your Soul Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. How many times have we quoted this verse? But the question is, what does it really mean to seek you first the kingdom of God? I have noticed that every time that Jesus performed a miracle, He did something first. That action, I believe, if we do the same thing it will change our prayer life and it will also bring us closer to the Lord. Before Jesus feed the 5,000, he did something that I think that many people miss. He prayed to His Father in Heaven John 6:1. Before Jesus fed the 4,000, in Matthew 15:36 but before He fed them, He prayed to His Heavenly Father. Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, He prayed and thanked His Heavenly Father for what He was about to do. There are seven time where before Jesus did whatever He was about to do, He thanked the Father in Heaven. May I ask you, how often have you, before you did anything, or were about to engage in a situation, did you stop to thank your Heavenly Father for putting you in that situation and then ask for His guidance? It is that very thing that for many people, will causes their prayer life to be weak and the reality that you haven’t had a prayer answered in quite a while. Romans 8:13 says for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. I believe that this verse is telling us that if we will walk in the Spirit life will occur. But the key, is that whatever we are involved in, that we engage Our Father first before we make any decision. The criteria that you and I are looking for is His righteousness, all decisions and actions start first in mind. Everything that we go to first starts in the mind. II Corinthians 10:5 and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; When we trust the Lord first, even if things don’t work out the way we hoped they would, we know that the Lord is in the driver’s seat of our life because we sought Him first. Now, if we make a habit of putting the Lord first, then we will discover that the verse goes on to say, that all these things shall be added unto you. Is that talking about physical things? Not necessarily, but the Lord will show you things that will satisfy your soul like nothing in this world. The Lord Will Satisfy Your Soul

Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

There are seven times where before Jesus did whatever He was about to do, He thanked the Father in Heaven.

May I ask you, how often have you, before you did anything, or were about to engage in a situation, did you stop to thank your Heavenly Father for putting you in that situation and then ask for His guidance?

It is that very thing that for many people, will causes their prayer life to be weak and the reality is that you haven’t had a prayer answered in quite a while.

Romans 8:13 says, “for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” I believe that this verse is telling us that if we will walk in the Spirit, life will occur. But the key is that whatever we are involved in, that we engage Our Father first before we make any decision.
