I Corinthians 19:8-9: “But I will tarry in Ephesus until Pentecost. For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.“
The apostle Paul didn’t look at the world though human eyes, for most when they would see adversaries or objections or obstacles they would try to find some way around it or just not attempt to overcome them. But, the Apostle Paul did not look through human eyes, Paul was so full of faith that he looks at everything through the faith in the Lord Jesus.
So, when he saw obstacles, he saw opportunities to share the Gospel for the Lord to work. It ought to be the desire of every child of God to be so filled with the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus that they face every difficulty in life as an opportunity for the Lord to work and for them to increase their faith.
The disciples in Luke 17 ask the Lord to increase their faith. In Mark 9 when Jesus was coming off of the Transfiguration He saw a man discussing with the disciples. He came to Jesus and said that he had brought his sick child who suffered with epilepsy to your disciples and they could not heal him. Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Then the father of the child said to Jesus, “Lord I believe; help my unbelief.” Whatever you are facing, Jesus has told us that with men it might not be impossible but with God all things are possible. But God gives us a condition and that condition is “they that come to God must believe that He is God and the rewarder of Him who diligently seek Him.”
The moment that we take a situation or problem or difficulty to the Lord, Satan will come and try to cause us to doubt. He will try to have us think, “Well, what if it doesn’t come true and people know that I have trusted the Lord?”
I will never forget when we started the Church and it was no one but Crickett and I. The devil would come and tell me that I was going to fall flat on my face. And he would even send people to me who would say things to me that would resurrect doubts in my mind. But the Lord assured me that He would not allow me to be embarrassed if I trusted in Him.
Psalm 25:2-3 says this: “My God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies’ triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.“
Psalms 31:1: “You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness.“
Romans 10:11: “For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
Pastor Lee Cruse. Have you experienced a great door of opportunity for the Lord for you to learn to trust in Him, but the devil has said you will fall flat on your face? Because there are many adversaries. The Lord who loves you will not allow you to stand on your own if you truly trust Him. He will not allow you to be ashamed. So, go for it!
