God Stretches Out The Heavens

Mathew 10:29-31: “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered “Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.“

Maybe you right now are going through some battles in life and you have reached the point where you feel so weak and weary from the struggle. Maybe you are coming to believe that this is a lonely world. I can sympathize with you to some degree. 

But the one thing that I remember when I get like that is “This is My Father’s World!” If we will remember each day this one thing as we begin the day, that “this is My Father’s world!” When we go to bed at night, if we will remember “This is My Father’s World”.

Do we realize that our Lord is in such control that even a Sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His permission? Why does the Lord talk about a sparrow? Because if He is in such control of life that a sparrow cannot fall, then He looks at you and says “You are more valuable than many sparrows?” 

Let me ask this question, how many of us have had our children or grandchildren sit down in front of us and we begin to count the number of hairs upon their head? Why? because “This is My Fathers World.”

It is natural that we ask the question that the Lord can achieve this inconceivable vastness of the universe, and look after the number of people who live. Then we ask this question, can God be interested in me? Me, with all my worries, fears, problems, and perplexities in my life and my destiny.

Realize that through Christ the God of the Universe has become my Father and the unspeakable marvelous world in which I live, whose air I breathe, and whose life I share, if forever bright with promise. He has promised to uphold, sustain, and guide not only the planets, but also the single sparrow in its solitary flight and ME.

So when we go to sleep at night and to which we shall wake tomorrow, thank God it is still our Father’s world.

Pastor Lee Cruse, if you have been following the satellite Voyager that was sent into outer space many years ago it just keeps going. Scientists have been amazed as they thought it would come to the end of the universe. But they are amazed that our Universe is still expanding. But guess what the Bible tells us in Isaiah 40:22? “Who stretches out the Heavens.”
