I Peter 5:7: “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”
What a poor picture the world seems to have upon our wonderful Heavenly Father. In the last couple of Pastor Corners, I have tried to portray who He really is. The first was to understand that this is our Father’s World. Then the second was to tell you of our Father’s Love but now I want to remind you of our Father’s care.
I once heard that the great Martin Luther was extremely depressed and found it very hard to conceal his melancholy mood. Then, he noticed that his wife was dressed in her mourning garments. When Martin asked why, she replied “well I thought that it was only proper, because I thought that God had died and that I should go mourning.”
How often have we gone about our daily tasks as if a funeral wreath has been hung on our door? Or we have worried as if our Father’s resources were empty?
I wish among all thing that I have tried to teach you, you would remember of God’s care for you. And has He not told you from the word of promise in Philippians 4:19, “But my God will supply all your needs according in His riches in glory in Christ Jesus?” And what of the sparrows that Jesus talked about and said that a sparrow can’t fall to the ground without His permission? And then He told you and I “are you not worthier than they?”
Oh, weary traveler do you realize how close Jesus is to you? He is not beside you or walking with you, no, He is closer than that. You see, the Bible tells us that God the Father looks over the portals of Heaven and He never takes His eyes off of you. He has told us that the great hope of Heaven in Colossians 1:27, “To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, which is the hope of Glory.”
Did you get that? If not, you are acting like Jesus or trying to be Jesus or working to be Jesus? No, the hope the Father has for you and I and all of the world is Christ in you which is the hope of Glory.
Pastor Lee Cruse, who wants you to think about that, how close is Jesus to you 24 hours a day? He is not beside you or close to you, no, He is in you and think about it, how close is that? That is because the Bible says to you and I Casting all your care upon Him for He Cares for you.
