II Corinthians 4:4: “whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”
Last Sunday was a great service especially at the end when you came forward to dedicate yourself to pray for some that you love and care about. But I want you to realize the moment you stepped forward to say, “Lord, I am committing to pray for this person until they come to know Jesus and are saved.” I want you to know that an alarm went off in Hell that we had people who were committing to take from Satan those who are not believers.
Understand why is this so hard. First, that person who you are praying for may be a nice person but Satan has blinded their mind that they don’t realize their need for Christ. The Bible identifies those people in John 8:44 as people of the devil, and in Acts 26:18 that they are under the authority of the Satan, Isaiah 14:17 says that they are prisoners of war.
You now see why it is not an easy thing to reach people who have never come to Christ. The Bible goes on to tell us in Mark 3:27 that we must bind the strong man (which is the devil) if we are to get them out of this terrible situation. They are lost and many don’t realize how lost they are.
As we take on this responsibility to see this person be saved, we must not give up but continue to pray. George Muller prayed every day for 53 years for five men to be saved and that last man gave his heart to Christ at Muller’s funeral.
I would also tell you to be specific and call out their name. Jesus taught us to say unto the mountain to take up and cast into the sea, in other word tell the Lord, “Lord, I am asking you to save, and then give Him their name” speak to the mountain! Once you have begun to pray for them understand there will be obstacles, and you may even see things get worse or that person you are praying for rebel. But that is why I gave you a piece of paper that you signed and when things begin to go south on you, you hold up that paper and say to Satan, “Satan I have given that person over to the Lord and I believe they will be saved.”
One other thing Jesus told us in Matthew 18:19,“Again, I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. Did you hear what Jesus just told you? Then get another person that will hold you up, another prayer warrior that will continue with you to pray for the person that you love, and you can pray for someone for them too.
Pastor Lee Cruse, who believe that last Sunday our Church turned into a birthing room. And I expect that we will see in the new weeks many be birthed into the Kingdom of God. Keep Praying!
